Bus crashes into houses in Safety Beach on the Mornington Peninsula

A bus carrying a dozen people has crashed through a fence and into houses on Melbourne’s Mornington Peninsula.

The bus collided with a concreter truck just after 11am on Prescott Ave in Safety Beach, with the impact sending the bus crashing through a front fence.

It then careered through an adjoining boundary fence and landed inside the house on Dromana Pde causing extensive damage.

Besides the 13 people on board the bus, there were two people in the truck, but nobody in the homes at the time.

Ten of the 12 passengers on the bus were uninjured. A 17-year-old boy and the 44-year-old bus driver were both taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Another passenger sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The truck driver, 32-year-old man, was uninjured and is assisting police with their enquiries.
