Fatal collision between car and livestock truck on Victorian highway leads to death of Portland woman

A woman was killed when her car collided with a livestock truck on a major Victorian Highway on Wednesday evening.

Police believe the woman’s car and the truck, which was empty and did not have livestock on board, collided on the Princes Highway in the coastal town of Port Fairy just before 6pm.

The driver of the car, a 38-year-old Portland woman, died at the scene.

The truck driver was not injured in the crash and is currently assisting police with their inquiries.

Following the crash, the highway was closed and it remains closed near Dura Lane, with the scene under control of Victoria Police.
